Ms. Iram Mehrin has been teaching English language and linguistics since 2017. She started her career as a part time faculty of Socio-linguistics at DEH of ULAB in 2016. She worked as a lecturer in South East University later and on September 2017 she joined CLS, ULAB.
Ms. Mehrin, apart from Bangla & English, has extensive knowledge of Spanish language. She has completed the Spanish Language program offered by Institute of Modern Languages (IML) of Dhaka University. She also taught Bangla to two of her native Spanish professors at IML from 2015 to 2016.

- Exploring the role of Critical thinking in promoting Autonomous Learning.
- A comparative study of Bangla and Spanish Plosives.
- Learning Bangla Consonants for native Spanish speakers: Challenges, difficulties and recommendations. (a longitudinal study started back in 2014. It will take more time due to the scarcity of data available)
Conference:
- Mehrin presented a paper on ‘Exploring the role of Critical thinking in promoting Autonomous Learning’ in the 8th International Conference on 12-14 January 2018 organized by Bangladesh English Language Teachers ‘Association (BELTA).
Awards:
- Gold Medal from English Department, Dhaka University- In MA (2016). Awarded in May 2017.
- Dean’s Dean’s Award 2018, Dept of English, Dhaka University - In MA (2016). Awarded on 24th April 2018.
- Spanish Summer Scholarship - a one-month scholarship (1st-30th June) at the University of Santiago de la Compostela, Galicia, Spain from ‘Catedra Inditex de Lengua y Cultura Espanol’, Institute of Modern Languages (IML), Dhaka University.
