Worried about Plagiarising? APA is at your help

The Center for Language Studies (CLS), University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh organized an online workshop on APA referencing on 24 September, 2020 in Google meet platform. Shuvo Shaha, senior lecturer, CLS, conducted this webinar. CLS faculty members, students from ULAB and DU participated in the workshop. Mr. Shaha identified different types of plagiarism and stressed on the importance of being aware of this issue in academic writing. The entire session was interactive as students spontaneously made queries and discussed possible ways to avoid plagiarism. He explained the ways of doing APA referencing of books, journal articles and online resources by showing rules and examples. Students tried to do referencing based on the source given by the facilitator. By the end of the session, important websites were suggested for learning about referencing and avoiding plagiarism and an APA manual was also shared by the facilitator. This meticulous presentation of Mr. Shaha was praised by Dr Shaila Sultana, advisor, CLS, ULAB who regarded this workshop as very important for creating awareness of young researchers.
