Center for Language Studies (CLS) celebrated Pohela Boishakh by preparing a wall magazine titled “The Village of Dark & Light”, displayed on April 14, 2019, at ULAB permanent campus. Students of ENG101, 102, and 103 volunteered to design and prepare the magazine for Pohela Boishakh celebration. CLS Wall Magazine Committee supervised the students preparing the wall magazine. The theme of the magazine was “Kalboishakhi”, and the volunteers worked relentlessly to make it a piece of art. It depicted a village, still and serene in the afternoon light, unaware of the impending storm. The magazine represents the unpredictability of life and demonstrates that darkness and light are two sides of the same coin; one cannot exist without the other. The magazine displayed poems, short stories, and artworks submitted by the students of Basic English and Fundamentals of English classes.
