Center for Language Studies (CLS) of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) hosted the Certificate Giving Ceremony of an English language training session titled English in the Workplace. Fourteen of the ULAB Office Staff were awarded Certificates of Attendance for successfully completing a 12-hour training program on using English in their workplace.
The program was attended by Ms. Juditha Ohlmacher, Member of Board of Trustees & Advisor to Communications and Student Affairs, ULAB; Professor H. M. Jahirul Haque, Pro Vice Chancellor, ULAB; Lt Col Md. Foyzul Islam, Registrar & Head of Administration, ULAB; A. T. M. Sajedul Huq, Director of CLS; faculty members and the award recipients.
In his speech, Professor Jahirul Haque, thanked CLS for arranging such a training session, which was the first of its kind at ULAB. The Registrar, Mr.Foyzul Islam added to this by encouraging the participants to take this opportunity and use it as a stepping stone towards further improving their English language skills and using them in the workplace. Ms. Juditha Ohlmacher, in her speech, mentioned that she could relate to the experiences of the participants in learning a foreign language, as she herself had gone through same experiences when learning Bangla.
The program also included a presentation by Mr. Sajedul Huq which highlighted the positive outcomes and the challenges of conducting the training. Two of the Office Staff, Joni Kuri and Md. Golam Kibria, also took the stage to speak of their experiences of the training.
The program ended with a photo session of the Office Staff with the Faculty.
